A new chapter begins in the long history of CWA-AA, USA.
Maryland, USA – The College of West Africa Alumni Association held its 22ndAnnual Convention and Election of Officers, utilizing a virtual platform as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The President of CWA High School, Rev. Paye C. Mondolo, provided a detailed update about the school and answered questions presented by alumni. The event was also attended by the President of Lott Carey Mission Alumni Association, Mr. Joseph Walker, CWA-AA, USA’s long-term school partner, Representative from the Brewerville Civic Association, Mr. Felix Wilson, and Former President of the Liberian Community Association, DC Metro Area, Mrs. Lucy Wilson-Kear.   ....

Rev. Cllr. Dr. Pearl Brown Bull declares at Providence Baptist 200 Anniversary
Liberian lawyer and minister of the Gospel, Rev. Cllr. Pearl Brown Bull, has declared that Liberia’s foundation is in trouble if its citizens remain standing on the “Faulty foundation” that has upheld the country for 173 years.
In her sermon, delivered at the 200th anniversary of the Providence Baptist Church on Sunday, March 7, the vocal Liberian female lawyer and preacher identified “Wickedness and greed for money” as vices that have taken over the true essence and motto of the establishment of Liberia.
Many Liberians claim that, because the country’s independence was signed in the Providence Baptist Church and those at the time were majority Christians, therefore “Liberia is built on Christian Principles,” an assumption that free thinkers and members of other religions have contested. ....

Ultimately, my staff employment at Peace Corps greatly influenced my decision to become a Volunteer. In June of 1971, I received my college degree. In July I left for Philadelphia to join a group of other Trainees.
There was a Peace Corps television commercial that featured two people lying on a beach and the voiceover told viewers to join the Peace Corps. At the time, I was a full-time student at Howard University and also worked a clerical job with the government of the District of Columbia my hometown. So, the thought of joining the Peace Corps as a Volunteer didn’t occur to me. But the idea of working for the agency was intriguing, and I thought that there must be staff positions at the Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C. ....
