Drawing a hundred participants from the ASEAN Member States, the METT-4 training was conducted in cooperation with the European Union, German Development Bank (KfW), and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the Biodiversity Conservation and Management of Protected Areas in ASEAN (BCAMP) Project, Small Grants Programme (SGP), and the Institutional Strengthening of Biodiversity Sector in the ASEAN II (ISB II) Project, respectively. OAS Begins Implementation of New Hemispheric Action Plan on Drugs 2021-2025 January 25, 2021 The Organization of American States (OAS) has begun implementation of the new Hemispheric Drug Strategy and Plan of Action 2021-2025, both approved at the 68th regular session of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD), chaired by Colombia and held in Bogota in December 2020. The Strategy and Plan of Action, in effect since January 1, represent the culmination of coordinated and collective efforts by OAS member states over a twelve-month drafting period during 2020, a process chaired by the United States. The documents form the basis of CICAD’s engagement on drug policy in the Western Hemisphere in the coming years. ....

UB recently commemorated the 20th anniversary of Research Edge in a virtual presentation which paid homage to the legacy platform. Research Edge is the brainchild of Higher Education and Development Policy Specialist the late Dr. Joan Vanderpool and was initiated in 2000 at the then College of The Bahamas (COB). Dr. Vanderpool’s vision for Research Edge was for it to be a forum that would showcase and promote scholarly, Bahamas-based research.
