Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has approved the procurement of 20 pick-up vans for security use, as well as the remodelling of 299 Primary Health Care Centers in the state and construction of additional health care centres to equal the number of political wards in the state.
The state executive council also approved the purchase of 28 energize transformers that will be distributed across the senatorial district of the state.
The pickup vans (20 JAC FRISON TX) which is aimed at boosting security In a bid to further boost security in the state, will cost N319 million.
The approval to remodel and equip at least one Primary Health Centre in each of the 351 Wards of the state, approved the renovation of 299 Health Centres across the state was said to be in line with Mr Makinde’s goals for the state. ....

Congress asks Governor to stop ‘illegal’ recruitments in EFLU immediately
Former minister G. Chinna Reddy and AICC national spokesperson Sravan Dasoju have appealed to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to immediately scrap the ‘illegal’ faculty recruitment being done by the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU).
Addressing a press conference here they said gross injustice is done to the OBCs in implementation of BC Reservation in the State and Central universities, including the EFLU, and constitutional rights are being deliberately violated. “BCs are not beggars and are only asking for their legitimate rights. All the institutions must implement 27% OBC Reservation without any further delay and the Congress Party is ready to fight on this sensitive issue to any extent,” they warn ....

Indiscriminate disposal of waste in Owerri, the Imo State capital, will no longer be tolerated as the government has put in place measures to check the excesses of those who deliberately violate environmental rules with wastes they generate from the businesses with its concomitant health hazards.
Specifically, the Imo State Government has frowned seriously at the manner Hostels and Eateries in the State dispose Sewage into waterways, saying such can no longer be tolerated.
Briefing newsmen after the regular weekly Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 presided over by the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy,  Declan Emelumba said  that Exco not only frowned at the improper disposal of waste  by Hostels and Eateries into waterways, but that government had taken steps to deal with the situat ....
