The Floral Arts Society of Pakistan’s Karachi chapter, named Gardenia, held a virtual event on Wednesday to demonstrate unique and beautiful styles of flower arrangements.
There are 47 members of Gardenia and over 350 members of the society across Pakistan who work for spreading awareness about flowers, gardening and nature.
The demonstration, titled ‘Enacting Free Standing Designs’, was conducted by floral art expert Asma Ansari, a coordination committee member and former president of the Floral Art Society’s Islamabad chapter, Magnolia.
According to Asma, the free standing designs is a subject on which masters in the field of flowers have worked around the world. In the demonstration, she taught the participants about steps to make free standing designs. ....

Tauranga City Council s commissioners have adopted an interim committee structure which will see most of the council s standing committees disbanded in the short term.
Yesterday s council meeting was the first involving the commission appointed by Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta earlier this month.
A statement from Tauranga City Council today said, as a result of yesterday s governance decisions, the Finance, Audit and Risk; Policy; Projects, Services and Operations; Urban Form and Transport Development; Regulatory; and Chief Executive s Performance committees have all been discharged and the commission will consider whether to establish further standing committees at a later date. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood on Tuesday said that the bill submitted in the National Assembly to make the Arabic language compulsory in Islamabad schools will be sent to the NA s standing committee for review before passing it.
According to a report by
Geo.tv, the minister clarified that Quranic teachings are already imparted across all Pakistan schools, adding that the decision to teach classical Arabic as opposed to conventional Arabic in school had also been under consideration for some time. ....
