FORT ST. JOHN, B.C – Four local organizations have partnered together to make supporting local restaurants easier while dine-in options have been suspended.
City of Fort St. John, Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce, and Moose FM and Energeticcity.ca have launched takeoutfsj.com. The website will allow residents to find a list of local restaurants and their menus all in one place.
“Once again, our local restaurants are being severely impacted by the restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Through the Mayor’s Standing Committee on Community Economic Recovery and this partnership, we are encouraging our community to support our local restaurants through this challenging time,” says Mayor Lori Ackerman, City of Fort St. John. ....

City to improve downtown aesthetic with Business Façade Improvement Program

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C â The City of Fort St. John is now taking applications for its program aiming to assist local downtown businesses with exterior renovations.
The one-time reimbursement grant will give businesses 50 per cent of up to $5,000 spent per building or project to improve the faÃ§ades of commercial buildings in the Downtown Development Permit Area.
The Business FaÃ§ade Improvement Program was made possible through a partnership between the Mayorâs Standing Committee on Community Economic Recovery and the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
âThrough the Mayorâs Standing Committee on Community Economic Recovery, we are committed to supporting our local businesses and our community well into the future. This program is yet another step we are taking to revitalize downtown as the economic, social and cultural heart of Fort St. John,â says Mayor Lori Ackerman. ....
