Victims Family, Friends Reflect On 20-Year Anniversary Of Deadly OSU Plane Crash
Wednesday marked 20 years since a plane crash took the lives of 10 members of the Oklahoma State University family.
The group of students, staff and broadcasters were on their way home after a game in Colorado.
Twenty years ago, a quiet, snowy prairie in Colorado became a tragic scene where a plane bound for Oklahoma, crashed. I almost cannot wrap my mind around the fact that it s been that long,” Chad Weiberg said in a video released Wednesday on Twitter by the OSU Cowboy Basketball account.
Weiberg s brother, Jared, was only 22 years old when he died.

On January 27, 2001, ten members of the Oklahoma State basketball team and staff were returning to Oklahoma from Colorado when the plane crashed into a field during a snowstorm, killing everyone on board.
The group referred to as The Ten are OSU basketball players Nate Fleming, and Daniel Lawson, student assistant Jared Weiberg, athletic trainer Brian Luinstra, director of basketball operations Pat Noyes, OSU athletic media relations coordinator Will Hancock, broadcast engineer Kendall Durfey, News 9 Sports Director Bill Teegins, and pilots Bjorn Fahlstrom and Denver Mills.
