The Federal Government has said the implementation of financial autonomy for the state legislature and judiciary will commence next week.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige disclosed this in his office Thursday night after a conciliation meeting to resolve the strike of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, and Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN.
A Statement by the Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry, Charles Akpan quoted Ngige as saying the striking legislative and judiciary workers would call off their prolonged strike as soon as implementation started . ....

Judiciary workers ignore CJN's appeal, resolve to continue strike

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) on Wednesday reviewed its 44-day-old nationwide strike and vowed to continue the crippling industrial action until its demand is met.
Courts at both the state and federal levels have been paralysed across the country since when the strike began on April 6.
JUSUN’s resolution to continue the strike comes barely 24 hours after the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad, 
The resolution also comes on the heels of the union’s May 8 resolution 
rejecting the 36 state governors’ proposed template for the implementation of the judiciary’s financial autonomy which the workers are pressing for. ....
