Ogdensburg woman opens 'Bootcamp' and fitness center in city during pandemic | Business


OGDENSBURG — Early in 2020, Johnnie Flynn, a certified personal trainer, had a dream of opening a “bootcamp” and fitness center in Ogdensburg but she was having trouble finding the perfect location.
That’s when her phone rang and was told to check out 1010 Franklin St., the former Lupia Electric building.
“When I walked into the building I knew without hesitation this was going to be our fitness center,” said Flynn, who eventually opened BBJ Bootcamp & Fitness Center on Sept. 12, 2020 with co-owner, Patrick Barr, in the building that had 1,950 square feet in space that was perfect for their plans.
Flynn’s “bootcamp” is different than your typical gym experience. It’s an interval circuit training style program, with each station offering different exercises you do for a minute on and a 20 second break. ....

John Roy Gourley, 70, a lifelong resident of Sugar Grove, Pa., and a snowbird to Clearwater, Fla., completed his journey and was called home to heaven where he met his savior, Jesus Christ on March 29, 2021. John was born on Nov. 30, 1950, in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late James William and Viola Benson Gourley.
John attended Sugar Grove Elementary School and graduated from Eisenhower High School and Hobart Welding School in Hobart Ohio. John proudly served his country in the United States Marines in Okinawa. He worked at Betts Industries in Warren, Cummins Engine in Jamestown and was retired from his employment at Warren State Hospital where he was a security guard for many years in the Forensic Building. ....

Hospital CEO under fire for saying black doctor who died of COVID 'intimidated her nursing team'


Indiana hospital CEO has accused a patient who died of COVID of being difficult
Dennis Murphy said Dr Susan Moore may have intimidated her nursing staff  
Moore, 52, of Indianapolis, died on Sunday of COVID-19 complications 
Moore posted video on Facebook on December 4 alleging racial discrimination 
She said medical staff at Indiana Health North in Carmel gave inadequate care 
Moore said staffers didn t believe her when she said she was in pain 
She accused Dr Eric Bannec of not giving her medication when she needed it 
Bannec allegedly told her that he didn t want to give Moore narcotics  
After being released from hospital, her fever spiked and blood pressure dropped ....
