18 Horror Movies From the Past Decade That You Might Have Missed

18 Horror Movies From the Past Decade That You Might Have Missed
July 10, 2021 by admin
Hasitha Fernando with a selection of horrors from the past decade that you may have missed…
Horror films are a dime-a-dozen, but really good ones? Now that’s a rare commodity. As always some of these good horror films have a tendency of flying under the radar of audiences due to them being indie-films with limited engagements or simply because they were swept under the gigantic tsunami of blockbuster madness, eventually becoming forgotten. Regardless, with Halloween just around the corner here – in no particular order – are eighteen such horror films which debuted during the past decade which are absolutely worth your time. In compiling this list, I have steered clear of all mainstream horror franchises, as well as more well-known independent affairs such as ....

Top 20 Worst Films of 2020 (#10 - 1)

Top 20 Worst Films of 2020 (#10 – 1)
Welcome, one and all, to part two my Movies Year in Review for 2020! I’m your host Jeremy Thomas, and today we’ll concluding our look at the worst films of the past 12 months before we get to the best next week. Keep in mind that
this list is meant to be my personal opinion and not a definitive list. You’re free to disagree; you can even say my list is wrong, but stating that an opinion is “wrong” is just silly. With that in mind, let’s get right in to it!
Earlier this week we saw the top half of my “worst of” list. As I noted before, with the 8 Ball no longer keeping me to the top 8 format (or a two-part top 16), I’ve decided to expand to an even 20. The first part looked at #20 through 11 and if you thought those films were bad, oh my folks. Just wait until you see what we’ve got for the bottom 10. Might as well rip the Band-Aid right off, so let’s get to it! ....

Another Grudge Reboot Is Reportedly In The Works

Another Grudge Reboot Is Reportedly In The Works
Ju-On franchise, better known to Western audiences as
The Grudge, is one of the most expansive brands in the history of the horror genre, spanning 20 years and encompassing thirteen movies, two short films, a TV series and even a video game. That’s an awful lot of content being wrung from a relatively thin premise, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to discover the law of diminishing returns set in a long time ago.
So far, there’ve been sequels, prequels, remakes and sequels to the remakes and reboots, with 2020 bringing a double dose of ....

The best films of 2020: The A.V. Club critics' ballots

Gif: Allison Corr
Don’t trust anyone who says it’s impossible to make a best movies list in 2020. There were plenty of films to like and even love over this dark, strange, unprecedented year. Just ask the 12 contributors to
The A.V. Club’s list. Each made a ranked ballot of their 15 favorites of 2020, and while there’s certainly overlap on all of them, you’ll also find passion picks sprinkled throughout: the movies that spoke, powerfully and singularly, to one critic in particular. We call those the outliers the films that appeared on one ballot and no others and they’re among the five superlatives affixed to each individual list. Keep reading to get a look behind the scenes of our best-of process, a sense of how our contributors aligned and diverged in their tastes, and maybe a few extra titles to add to your catch-up list as 2020 cycles over to 2021. ....
