MCSC, MCTSSA create 'social media network for Marines' to support needs > United States Marine Corps Flagship > News Display

QUANTICO, Va.
Marine Corps Systems Command drew inspiration from social media and video games to create an information hub catering to the needs of the 21st century Marine.
In February 2021, MCSC’s Program Manager for Infantry Weapons launched the Infantry Weapons Information Tool, an intuitive website inspired by social media that aims to increase communication among the Fleet and better support their needs.
This easy-to-use, Common Access Card-enabled website provides Marines with relevant technical doctrine, training manuals, instructional videos and other tools associated with PM IW equipment to make them a more effective force.
“We wanted to fill a need for this generation of Marines,” said Joshua Adams, a project officer for Company and Battalion Mortars with PM IW. “Our research and brainstorming led to the creation of a hub that Marines can use to learn more about systems within PM IW.” ....

D.A. Chesa Boudin declines to file charges in two 2020 S.F. police shootings [San Francisco Chronicle]
Dec. 11 San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin has declined to file charges against officers connected to two separate police shootings this year, including the one that killed 21-year-old Cesar Vargas in October.
Boudin, who announced the decisions on Thursday, said evidence in both incidents showed the officers’ use of force amounted to lawful self-defense.
“My office carefully reviews the specific facts in each case involving officer use-of-force so we can determine when charges are warranted as well as when officers acting under stressful situations behaved lawfully,” Boudin said in a statement. ....

San Francisco Attorney Chesa Boudin announced Thursday his office won t file charges against three San Francisco Police Department officers involved in two separate shootings earlier this year.
SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco Attorney Chesa Boudin announced Thursday his office won t file charges against three San Francisco Police Department officers involved in two separate shootings earlier this year.
The first case involves the Oct. 11, 2020 fatal shooting of 21-year-old Cesar Vargas at the hands of officers Kyle Roach and Nicholas Delgado. In that case, Roach and Delgado responded to the scene after several witnesses reported seeing Vargas break into several cars near Market and Valencia streets, in addition to carjacking a woman at knifepoint. ....
