Community Foundation Appoints Two New Trustees, Elects Chair and Vice Chair

SPRINGFIELD The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts (CFWM) announced two new Trustees: Nikki Burnett, executive director of Educare Springfield, and Gillian Hinkson, victim witness advocate for the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office. In addition, CFWM also elected a new trustee chair, Paul Murphy, and vice chair, Karin George.
Burnett began her role as executive director of Educare Springfield in August 2019. For more than 20 years, she has pursued her passion of empowering her community and building equity. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts and on its race and equity subcommittee; on national committees for the Educare Learning Network, including its educare policy work group and collaborative fundraising advisory board; and on the Baystate Community Benefits Advisory Council. GREENFIELD The MassHire Franklin Hampshire Workforce Board is seeking nominations of deserving companies to receive its Workforce Development Leader Award.
According to the description on the nomination form, the workforce board will look for some (though not necessarily all) of the following characteristics when selecting winners this year:
■A company that provided support throughout the pandemic, with an eye to health and safety of employees and the public

HCC Foundation Inc. a charitable arm of the college, has announced the college s new directors and officers.

The nonprofit fundraising arm of Holyoke Community College has added seven new members to its Board of Directors and elected new officers.
The HCC Foundation, Inc., voted three-year director’s terms for four alumni of the college, and three others.
The alumni are Nikki Burnett of Springfield, the executive director of Educare Springfield; Cynthia Shea Desroches of South Hadley, the treasurer and manager of Holyoke Postal Credit Union; Deana McPherson of Granville, chief Financial Officer for Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc.; and Israel Rivera of Holyoke, area studies program manager for the Center of Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies at University of Massachusetts Amherst. ....
