PITTSFIELD â Itâs more than 2,500 miles from North Adams to Las Vegas. But, that trip must have seemed even longer to Williams College senior Zachary Schreier, considering the journey he has been on this year.
Twelve months ago, Schreier was part of a team of Williams students who received the first-place prize in a local business pitch contest held by Entrepreneurship for All in North Adams. Fast-forward almost a year, and there were Schreier and childhood friend Nick Hamburger standing on a television stage in Las Vegas, pitching a different business venture to a panel of investors on the popular show âShark Tank.â ....

Quevos egg white chips attract Shark Tank investment from KIND Snacks founder

After appearing on ABC s Shark Tank last week, Quevos – an emerging brand making egg white-based chips – received an investment from Equilibra Partners Management, the family office of KIND Snacks founder, Daniel Lubetzky, to fuel its next phase of growth.
Founded by Nick Hamburger and Zack Shreier, two Chicago-area childhood friends, the idea for
Quevos stemmed from Shreier, who as a Type 1 diabetic, must diligently monitor what goes into his body.
Eggs had always been a safe bet for Schreier s diet (because of their low carbohydrate count), but the problem was they weren t very snackable. However, Schreier noticed how much he enjoyed the crispy remnants of eggs left over in the pan after cooking, and with the help of Hamburger, turned their discovery into a brand of egg white-based chips known as Quevos. ....

Daniel Lubetzky, the founder of US better-for you snack brand Kind, has invested in Quevos, a local crisps business using egg whites as a main ingredient.
The deal, done through Lubetzky s family office Equilibra, was announced on US TV business investment show
Shark Tank on which he is a panellist. Lubetzky has invested US$200,000 and contributed another $200,000 as a line of credit for a 10% stake in the business.
Lubetzky will partner with Quevos founders Nick Hamburger and Zack Schreier to help promote and market the crisp brand s introductory line of high-protein, high-fibre, low-carb snacks in flavours including honey mustard and sweet barbecue. ....

Quevos Update: See How The Company Has Grown After 'Shark Tank'

Shark Tank, and the Chicago-based food startup seems to be headed to even more expansion.
The company, founded by Nick Hamburger and Zack Schreier, makes snack chips made out of egg whites as a more nutritious alternative to potato chips or other fatty foods. As
Biz Journals reported, the product comes in a variety of flavors and has been on the steady rise since Hamburger dropped out of the University of Chicago in 2018 to run the outfit full-time.
As the report noted, Quevos had already moved into 1,000 retail locations before the owners were featured on the January 22 episode of the ABC reality series, seeking an investment that would propel their growth even more. Food-based outfits have tended to perform well on the show, especially those offering lower calorie or all-natural snack options, though it wasn t clear ahead of the episode s airing whether the founders were able to win over any of the Sharks. ....
