Show Fullscreen Project Heart is looking to pioneer zero-emission regional air services A project to trial zero-carbon plane flights that includes architect Weston Williamson among its core team members has secured a £1.8m government grant to help services launch in four years’ time. The practice is one of 10 organisations in the Project Heart consortium that is looking to trial zero-carbon, zero-emission hydrogen-electric flights between remote Scottish islands. It said Project Heart, which stands for hydrogen-electric automated regional transport, would construct and operate the world’s first zero-emission 19-seater commercial aircraft route. The project, which will also include dedicated green hydrogen infrastructure, is targeting a start to services in 2025. ....
A series of green public spaces will be landscaped around the Water Orton viaducts that Weston Williamson + Partners has designed in Warwickshire for the High Speed Two railway. The viaducts, which will be built near the village of Water Orton, have been developed for a section of the high-speed railway that branches west towards Birmingham and north towards Crewe. Weston Williamson + Partners proposal is intended to have a low visual impact on existing rural landscapes in the area, with both concrete viaducts developed to be as slender as structurally possible. There will also be large spans between their supporting piers, creating space at ground level for the landscaping of green public spaces including allotments and a community-led orchard . ....

Advertisement The viaducts will be built at Delta Junction, a triangular section of the line where the new railway curves west towards Birmingham and, ultimately, Crewe, while the existing main line heads north. The structures are needed to carry the railway across a network of existing motorways, roads and footpaths. The area between the viaducts, previously home to a rugby club, will be relandscaped. ....
