WORCHESTER 2, SYRACUSE 1 / 10 INNINGS (BOX) Jordan Yamamoto got the start for Syracuse in Friday evening’s game, and pitched generally pretty well despite not getting very deep into the game. Yamamoto allowed one run, on a solo homer to Worchester’s Marcus Wilson in the bottom of the second, in 4.1 innings of work, with eight strikeouts and three walks. Syracuse trailed 1-0 until the top of the seventh, when Quinn Brodey homered to tie the game. The game remained tied at 1-1 through the ninth and into extra innings. Syracuse failed to score in the top of the tenth, and Stephen Nogosek entered the game to try to keep the game tied. With one out in the inning, Nogosek walked Danny Santana and Chris Herrmann intentionally to load the bases and potentially set up a double play situation. Nogosek managed to get the second out in the inning, but subsequently walked Marcus Wilson to force in the winning run. The Syracuse Mets lost to the Worchester Red Sox 2-1. ....

Clearly, the Triple-A East Northeast is using those same balls, because Syracuse and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre combined for 28 runs on 25 hits. Despite the high number of runs being scored, the game was actually a close one early on. In the fifth, the RailRiders scored three runs to tie things up at 5-5, but that tie would not last long as Syracuse plated four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. Unfortunately for them, that lead would barely last, as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre put up an eight spot in the top of the sixth, giving them a commanding lead they would not relinquish. ....

Dismiss Save Normal text size Advertisement The board of Australia Post failed to seek legal advice or get a written commitment from Christine Holgate that she would stand aside for an investigation into the Cartier watches saga before publicly announcing that she had agreed to do so. Ms Holgate is now considering legal action against Australia Post over her controversial exit as chief executive in November, claiming chair Lucio Di Bartolomeo unlawfully stood her down in breach of her contract amid pressure from the Morrison government. ....
