A brand new app designed to tackle crime has launched in Wandsworth. Information sent by the Metropolitan Police and Wandsworth Council via OWL (Online Watch Link) can now be received using a mobile app. Residents can download it for free and receive an instant notification as soon as a new message is sent by their local police officers or council community safety officers. Without any registration or login, the public can also view recent information on crimes, appeals and crime prevention advice sent to their local area or anywhere in their borough. The OWL Messaging Service is used by police and council officers in Wandsworth and other London boroughs to send messages directly to registered subscribers by email. ....

The warning from Brent s Online Watch Link (OWL) comes as primary and secondary schools re-open today during the third Covid-19 lockdown. Police will be carrying out extra patrols at school start and finish times as a precaution. In his note, PC Kharegh said: In recent months, some children have been robbed when travelling home. ....

CI Mike Todd takes over from CI Lynda Coates after acting as Herts police s silver commander for Operation Bullrush, the planning and tactical delivery of Hertfordshire’s operational policing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the St Albans District Chief Inspector, he leads approximately 150 officers and staff. He said: “I’m delighted to take on this role in St Albans. I will continue to build upon the excellent work to date, with a greater shift from reactive to proactive policing. I will work collaboratively with our community and partners to prevent harm, prevent crime and prevent reoffending - ensuring St Albans district remains a safe place to live, work and visit. ....
