Ed-tech startup Byju’s on Monday said it has acquired Aakash Educational Services Ltd (AESL) to bolster its presence in the test preparation segment in the country.
According to sources, the deal is worth close to USD 1 billion (about ₹7,300 crore) - making it the biggest acquisition by Byju’s to date.
The companies, however, did not comment on the financial details of the deal. As part of the transaction, Aakash founders and Blackstone will become shareholders in Byju’s.
Byju’s, which is the most valued ed-tech startup in the country, is backed by marquee investors like Mary Meeker, Yuri Milner, Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, Tencent, Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global and others. It is estimated to have raised over USD 2 billion in funding to date. ....

Farming in Boherduff, Co. Galway, Kevin and his daughter Ciara Callanan operate a 200 cow Holstein Friesian dairy herd. Speaking on his enterprise, Kevin explains:
“I farm in partnership with my daughter Ciara on a 330ac farm. We operate a combination of spring and autumn-calving, leaning more towards spring-calving.
“It’s always been dairy on the farm. We supply Aurivo Co-op with our milk.”

Kevin is a second and Ciara is a third-generation dairy farmer, with the family having milked cows on the farm for over 60 years. The Callanans have installed a JFC Agri Evolution S4 automatic calf feeder back in 2018, which feeds and monitors up to 140 calves on an individual basis. ....

Wexford milk producer rearing better calves with a lot less work

Philip Tyndall farms in a dairy partnership with his parents Anne and John at Ashgrove House, Gurteen, Templeshambo, near Enniscorthy. The Tyndall family milk a spring-calving herd of 140 high-EBI Friesian cows with some crossbreds and supply Glanbia Co-op.
Philip studied dairy herd management at the Teagasc Agricultural College in Kildalton. He is an active member of both Macra and the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) as well as their local Teagasc Discussion Group and the IFJ Grass Group.
He is active on social media and has over 5,000 followers on
