Report for America announced today that applications are now open for news organizations interested in partnering to host emerging and experienced journalists in their newsrooms for up to three years, beginning next summer.

The Charlotte Post will sponsor an emerging journalist who ll cover health in Charlotte s Black community next year as a collaboration with Report for America.
The Post has been selected to host an emerging journalist through the Report for America corps.
The Post is one of 64 media outlets to join the journalism service program as a host newsroom, enabling Report for America to place more than 300 journalists in the field next year.
Report for America’s support is adding more than 100 new reporting positions and expanding to more than 200 newsrooms across the U.S. at a time when economic stresses from the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated economic pressures on local news organizations. LaNoticia, The Charlotte Observer, and WFAE are also host newsrooms.
The program also opened the application window for reporters to apply to become corps members in 2021.
Report for Americaâs support is adding more than 100 reporting positions and expanding to more than 200 newsrooms across the country, at a time when the impact of the coronavirus pandemic has decimated local news economically. The newly-selected newsrooms and beats include:
