Mike Murphy always had the best interest of his community in mind.The former president of the Greenfield Girls Softball League and the driving force behind Murphy Park in Greenfield passed away Tuesday at the age of 73.Murphy, who graduated from GHS.

Regarding the Moody Center’s plans for expansion. Here we go again. Four years ago I attended a meeting at the Senior Center in Northfield, where representatives from The Moody Center and Thomas Aquinas College gave a talk on “how happy they were to be in Northfield” and their future plans.
It came as no surprise that The Moody Center had plans to make Northfield a destination place. I have no problem with that; in fact they are good neighbors and need our help. All I ask is please give them a chance.
Six years ago, the Snow Family purchased the Northfield Golf Course. The course is now beautiful and very attractive to area golfers. It has also helped Northfield’s tax rate, etc. The Four Star Farm seems to get the OK on many of their new projects with little or no complaints.
