Credits: Photo: Carol Reif May 13, 2021 at 10:27 AM NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - A North Salem bridge has deteriorated to the point where it’s been determined vehicles of a certain size should no longer be crossing it, town officials said last week. Last spring, the state Department of Transportation set a weight limit of 16 tons, or 32,000 pounds, for the small, concrete span on Route 116. It carries traffic over the Titicus River and is located just west of Hilltop Drive near the New York-Connecticut state border. ....
