Telangana state government on July 12 issued a preliminary notification to change the names of two districts. On Thursday, orders have been issued by the state government stating that the names of Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts have been changed into Hanamkonda and Warangal districts respectively. The revenue department also made necessary changes to this effect.

WARANGAL: In a gruesome incident, six members of a family, who were on their way to purchase clothes for their daughter s wedding, were crushed to death on NH 365 after the autorickshaw they were travelling in and a lorry collided head-on near Marrimitta village of Gudur mandal in Mahabubabad district on Friday.

Telangana State Tribal,Women and Child Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod visited the family members of the six victims who died in a road accident at Marrimitta in Mahabubabad district at the Area Hospital and assured support for the deceased family members.
The minister termed the accident as extremely unfortunate and extended her sympathies to the family members. It was said that the accident happened due to the reckless driving of the lorry driver, who was drunk at the time of the accident.
The family members were apparently going to Narsampet to buy clothes, as there was a marriage in the family.
