Come, join the race, and walk or run among friends for a great cause. Medals will be awarded to those racing with dogs as well as those racing without. Crime by Danielle O’Neal Premium Content Subscriber only A man tasered by police after he allegedly stabbed a police dog and slashed an officer has suffered a medical episode and died. Police were called to an alleged break and enter at a home on Warana Ave at Mount Lofty, Toowoomba about 6.50pm. Minutes later, a police dog was stabbed and his handler, a 32-year-old senior constable from the Darling Downs dog squad, was slashed across the face.

The witness filmed police from their window after they tasered a 31-year-old man who had allegedly broken into a Warana Ave home in Mt Lofty on Sunday night. In the video police officers can later be seen holding the man to the ground, using their knees. A 32-year-old senior constable from the Darling Downs Dog Squad was one of the first officers on the scene along with police dog Turbo. Upon arrival, the handler and his dog located a 31-year-old Toowoomba man, allegedly involved in the break and enter.

Police dog Turbo doing well after stabbing surgery

Premium Content Subscriber only Toowoomba police dog Turbo is doing well after he was treated for stab wounds and a punctured lung, sustained while pursing a suspect yesterday. PD Turbo is a 20-month-old general purpose police dog assigned to the Darling Downs District. We are pleased to report, PD Turbo is out of surgery and is recovering nicely. He is already up and about, bouncing round, a QPS spokesperson said. PD Turbo is now back with his relieved handler. All support is being given to his handler at this time. The Dog Squad and the Queensland Police Service would like to thank the community for their ongoing support.
