Greenfield’s Superintendent Search Committee finalized with 17 members WALL Published: 3/11/2021 3:23:13 PM GREENFIELD The chair of the committee that will find a new Greenfield School Department superintendent has chosen 16 people to serve alongside her, and the School Committee approved all of them on Wednesday. School Committee member Jean Wall, who is heading the Superintendent Search Committee, said she chose more people than she had expected she originally said there would be 12 to 13 on the committee, and instead there are 17 including her. Wall began accepting letters of interest from parents, teachers, principals, union members, school administrators, business leaders, city councilors and anyone else who would like to help choose the Greenfield School Department’s next superintendent several weeks ago. She received 28 letters of interest and a few people spoke to her about helping. ....
RICHMOND â The state has agreed to repair damage and remove debris left in the wake of a botched woodland trail project on Lenox Mountain last summer. After an eight-month standoff on the matter, a representative of the Department of Conservation and Recreation said it will submit a restoration plan for review by the townâs Conservation Commission. Senior ecologist Nancy Putnam attended a remote meeting Tuesday â the DCR had rebuffed previous invitations to join the committee â to describe the proposed work to be done in collaboration with Mass Audubon. Portions of the land conservation organizationâs forested land had been disturbed during last yearâs state project to update utility connections and replace power lines with an underground cable to a communications tower on the summit. Two residential properties were affected, and a wide gravel road was constructed by the state along its right of way, eliminating a popular hiking trail. ....
