RANCHI: The Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) in collaboration with public sector banks have been able to successfully train rural youths for various skills, thereby making them eligible for loans from banks in order to start their respective businesses. According to the annual assessment report published by the National Academy of RUDSETI (Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute), Bangalore, 99% of the youth enrolled with JSLPS have cleared the evaluation. Out of the total 9,629 candidates enrolled during the last one year, 9,593 have successfully passed their evaluation. A total of five nationalised banks, including State Bank Of India, Canara Bank, Bank of India, Punjab National bank and Indian Bank, trained over 9,000 rural youths on self-employment program supported by JSLPS. ....
JHARKHAND: Gloria from Thetaigangar block of Jharkhand’s Simdega district used to waste her time sitting idle before joining the Mahila Utpadak Samooh, a women’s cooperative involved in collection and selling of forest produce, especially medicinal plants and herbs. Now, this gives her an additional earning of over Rs 4,000 every month. More than 12,500 rural women like Gloria are benefitting from the training programme of Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) under Medicinal Plant Project of the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana. Under the project, women living in and around forests are trained in collection and processing of Kusum, Karanj, tamarind and other forest produce. They are also being provided market linkage through Palash Mart spread across the state. With this government initiative, tribal women are earning over Rs 4,000 every month. Moreover, about 300 farmers are also earning up to Rs 5,000 by working with rural service centres. ....
Picture used for representational purpose only RANCHI: Jharkhand on Monday heaved a sigh of relief after no case of bird flu was detected following testing of over 4,000 samples of dead birds collected from across the state. State animal husbandry department officials said the deaths could have resulted from severe cold or electrocution but expressed concern whether the negative results of the samples for avian influenza could have been the outcome of an unscientific collection of the samples. As close to a dozen states across the country reported an outbreak of the avian flu, the state issued an alert and safety protocols to handle the dead birds. ....
No confirmed case of bird flu in Jharkhand ANI | Updated: Jan 18, 2021 12:19 IST Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], January 18 (ANI): Even as the avian influenza is spreading across various states, Jharkhand s Director of Animal Husbandry Department, Nancy Sahay on Monday said there are no confirmed cases of bird flu in the state yet. Sahay said, We have sent 4,014 samples for testing till January 17. No death was reported among poultry birds. As per the instructions by the Centre, we are not going to impose a ban on poultry products. On January 12, Sahay said that death of poultry birds has been reported in the state so far. ....
