FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –G’Auna Edwards produced a career best score of 4,148 points in the pentathlon as the lone Razorback competing for the women’s team on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Championships inside Randal Tyson Track Center.
Edwards finished eighth in the pentathlon, scoring a team point for Arkansas and earning an All-America honor.
More Razorbacks join the fray on Friday with qualifying prelim races along with finals in the 5,000m, distance medley relay, pole vault and long jump. The long jump provides Edwards with another opportunity to score team points.
A solid production of marks had Edwards in fourth place through four events with a score of 3,446 points. Edwards ran the 800m in 2:29.24 to add 702 points, which enabled her to break a previous best of 4,068 points set during the SEC Championships.
