Riverbend Elementaryâs third-grade student Nathan Lanning felt inspired to help those residents at Autumn Care this holiday season. Wanting to help residents, including his aunt Becky who resides there, Lanning decided on giving blankets to nursing home residents for comfort, since many have not been able to have visitors for many months. Each blanket delivered to a resident is meant to symbolize and remind them of a warm hug and that someone cares for them. After putting out a request for donations to purchase 84 blankets, Lanning and his mom collected enough donations to purchase 104 blankets. The additional blankets will be taken on to Creekside Villas at Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center. ....
