State and federal health officials have asked older Sydneysiders who have had their first AstraZeneca jabs to come back early for a second dose in response to the circulation of the Delta variant of COVID-19. NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant has said people should consider shortening the interval between first and second jabs from 12 weeks to six. “We might sacrifice a bit of long-term protection but we’re making sure you’re protected earlier and, at this time, that’s the strategy we’d suggest,” she said. Victim feared for his life as man 'waved' air pistol around

A MAN feared for his life when another man pursued him with an air pistol in the early hours in Bournemouth, a court heard.
Nathan Luke Bartlett was jailed for 16 months after admitting offences of having an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of a baseball bat.
Bartlett, 33 and of Manor Road, Hayling Island, was said to be “waving” the air pistol around and “screaming incoherently” as his victim was trying to get help from a taxi driver in Southbourne.
Judge Jonathan Fuller QC said Bartlett’s victim “thought this was it”. ....
