A report on San Antonio’s response to the winter storm is expected to be ready by the middle of June, making it more than four months before the public fully sees the shortcomings of the energy crisis that left many residents without power and water for days in February.
While responses to questions by a special committee overseeing the process are starting to come in, many answers still remain. Members of the San Antonio City Council expressed concern about lapses in communication on Thursday, and on Friday responses from the San Antonio Water System and City of San Antonio were released. ....

Committee reviewing winter freeze response expects to finish by June 15

San Antonio – The chairman of a committee formed by Mayor Ron Nirenberg to determine what went wrong during February’s winter freeze told council members that he expects the committee to finish its work next month.
“I just want to make sure that we’ve got something written and completed by June 15th,” former District 8 city councilman Reed Williams told the city council Thursday.
The Committee on Emergency Preparedness has been meeting since March 5, crafting questions for the city and its two publicly-owned utilities to determine how the city found itself in a situation where some residents spent days without power or water, and what can be done to better prepare in the future. ....

The chair of a committee Mayor Ron Nirenberg formed to figure out what went wrong during the winter storm says he expects to report their findings by next month. Former city councilman Reed Williams told city council members on Thursday that his target date is June 15th. The Committee on Emergency Preparedness has been meeting for two-months, asking the city and its two publicly owned utilities how residents lost power and water for days, and how to prevent it from happening again.
