BHOPAL: The Congress is elated over historical win of Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal which has put a check on the saffron party s victory spree. However, after Election Commission s decision to defer by-polls in the country till the pandemic situation restores to normal, the Congress is making a conscious effort to build public opinion in favour of the joint alliance of all opposition parties.
Madhya Pradesh is likely to conduct by-polls in Khandwa Lok Sabha and Prithvipur and Jobat assembly seats due to untimely death of the representatives. In Khandwa, BJP s Nandkumar Singh Chauhan passed away on March 2 due to Covid-19 while, in Prithvipur (Tikamgarh) former Congress minister Brijendra Singh Rathore and in Jobat (Jhabua) assembly seat, Congress MLA Kalawati Bhuria died recently due to Covid-19. A decision to conduct by-polls in these constituencies is to be finalised by the Election Commission. ....

Mamata Banerjee will lose by 50,000 votes: Vijayvargiya


BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya on Thursday claimed that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be defeated from Nandigram in the coming Assembly polls.
She would have lost from Bhabanipur, her current constituency, and therefore decided to contest from Nandigram this time, he said.
But she would lose from there too by a margin of 50,000 votes, Vijayvargiya, the BJP general secretary in- charge for the poll-bound state, told reporters at Shahpur in Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
He was here to visit the family of the BJP s Khandwa MP Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan who died recently.
The BJP leader also dismissed opinion polls predicting ....

Second part of Parliament s Budget Session to commence today
The Rajya Sabha would function from 9 am to 2 pm while the Lok Sabha would function between 4 pm to 9 pm.

After a brief interval, the Lok Sabha is all set to resume the Budget Session of Parliament from Monday with the united Opposition prepared with a strategy to create pandemonium in the House.
The Opposition will be raising various issues targeting the Centre, especially on farm laws and LPG price hike.
Part two of the session is taking place at a time when political parties have their focus on elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry. The elections would take place in March-April. ....
