Takoma Park Police Collects Over 300 Pounds of Medicines
Takoma Park Police collected 339 pounds of expired and unused medicines during Nationwide Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Chief Antonio DeVaul thanked those who participated, stressing that this program prevents pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
Residents still can dispose of excess and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications at the City of Takoma Park Police Department, 7500 Maple Avenue, 1st Floor lobby. Accepted medications include prescription and non-prescription drugs, patches, ointments, over-the-counter medications vitamins or pet medication by dropping them into the green Med-Return mailbox. Also accepted are vape pens and other e-cigarette devices after the batteries are removed . ....

Takoma Park Police Collecting Expired, Unused Prescription Medicines
Takoma Park Police Department will collect expired and unused prescription medicine as part of the Drug Enforcement Administration Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 24.
Drugs can be dropped off at the police department, located at 7500 Maple Avenue, in the first floor lobby. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The goal is to prevent drug abuse and theft.
Besides expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs, the police will accept over-the-county and pet medicines. They will not accept liquids, inhalers, aerosol cans, household ointments, lotions, needles and other sharp objects and thermometers. ....
