Lewes burglary: Jon Paul Healey admits raids at Friars Walk

Jon Paul Healey was spotted acting suspiciously in Friars Walk in Lewes.
But the 39-year-old got more than he bargained for at one property, stuffing items into a bag containing soiled babies nappies.
Police were called after Healey was spotted trying doors in the street, and was also spotted attempting to burgle properties in Pelham Terrace and St John’s Hill as well.
At Lewes Crown Court it was revealed Healey has been a prolific burglar, turning to crime to fund drug use.
His lawyers said he was ready to address his behaviour, but Her Honour Judge Janet Waddicor said putting Healey behind bars was the only option left. ....

One of the main institutional proxy advisers in Australia, has warned against the government’s new proposed restrictions for the sector, with fears independent research could drown in impossible restrictions.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg recently declared proposed legislation for proxy advisers, aiming for more transparency around proxy advice.
The draft changes have suggestions such as requiring firms to have Australian Financial Services Licences (AFSLs) and to distribute their advice and research on firms they’re the subject of five days before their investor clients see it, as well as alert their clients of how to access company responses. ....

Super funds are in a tug of war between member and regulatory pressure for climate action and the government’s latest move clamping down on proxy advice, the chair of Spirit Super has said.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg recently declared a litany of proposed rules for proxy firms, including a requirement to obtain an Australian Financial Services Licence and to provide their research and advice on companies they’re the subject of at least five days before handing it to their investor clients.
If a proxy adviser’s client is a superannuation fund, the proposed legislation will require them to be independent from their client. ....
