An Evening with Tedeschi Trucks brings premier performers to Vilar Performing Arts Center on Aug. 3

Tedeschi Trucks Band – led by guitar-wielding husband-and-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi – has earned the reputation from both audiences and critics alike as one of the premier live bands in the world. Touring the country at large, iconic venues such as Red Rocks, members of Tedeschi Trucks Band will perform an intimate show at the 530-seat Vilar Performing Arts Center at Beaver Creek on Aug. 3.
“Equal parts musical historians and innovators, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi uncover songs and artists from a century of the blues tradition, reimagined with powerful contemporary arrangements,” VPAC Executive Director Owen Hutchinson said. “Their original material is bursting with authenticity and personality. Few American roots music bands are breaking new ground as rapidly and with greater force than Tedeschi Trucks.” ....

In 2011, Rolling Stone listed Derek Trucks at number 16 in their “100 Greatest Guitarists” tally.
Now, Trucks is bringing his Tedeschi Trucks Band, a jam-band circuit favorite, to Huntsville for a performance at 3rd Rock, the VBC’s new outdoor stage.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. June 18 show go on sale 1o a.m. April 23 via ticketmaster.com and the VBC Box Office. Ticket prices have yet to be announced. The VBC is located at 700 Monroe St. As of now, no support act has been announced.
The Huntsville is part of a tour the band is calling “Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Live,” a show in the style of TTB’s The Fireside Sessions livestreams, with lineups featuring lineups of four to eight band members performing at outdoor venues. The VBC is the third date on the tour, following two opening shows in Jacksonville, Fla., where the Tedeschi and Trucks are based. T ....
