An extensively modified 1987 Saab 900 is looking for a new home and is perfectly suited to the drag strip.
While the Saab 900 is a pretty cool car in its own right, the previous owner of this example decided to turn it into a drag racer, slotting in a 5.0-liter V8 that’s been supercharged and also features an Edelbrock Performer intake. The engine is supported by an MSD distributor, Accel electronic ignition, an upgraded aluminum radiator and is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. The Saab also features upgraded front suspension, a Ford 9-inch rear differential, and ladder bar rear suspension to effectively transit all the power to the pavement. ....

Anyone who’s ever seen a no prep drag racing event might be surprised to see the cool “Redrum” fourth-generation Ford Mustang compete against a smart (yes, Daimler s city car), but that really happened at the recent Brawl in the Falls 2.0 event held at the Wichita Raceway in Iowa Park, Texas. No, we re not talking about a sleeper here because this time around, the smart was just a placeholder to complete the class and help racers advance into the rounds where there’s some real action.

Earlier this month the racers in the 405 area (Interstate 405 for anyone not accustomed to its gridlocks) had the opportunity to blow off some steam and burn the rubber during the 405 Callout event organized by the Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Noble, Oklahoma and Big Marc. And it seems everyone was eagerly anticipating the drag racing relief, especially Ford Mustang drivers.

The Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Noble, Oklahoma has been overtaken this past weekend by racers in the 405 area (that’s Interstate 405, the one famous for the gridlocks) that were probably looking to vent some steam at the strip. It was also the place to be for grudge matches, as it apparently is the case with these two Fox Body Ford Mustang racers.
