Speaker SN Patro BHUBANESWAR: In the wake of the active Covid-19 cases in the state breaching the one-lakh mark, Speaker SN Patro has convened an all-party meeting on Monday to discuss the current strategy in containing the spread of the virus and the way forward. The all-party meeting, to be held virtually, will be chaired by Patro. It will be attended by chief minister Naveen Patnaik, senior cabinet ministers and MLAs from other political parties, apart from the ruling BJD. Senior health department officials are likely to make a presentation on the Covid situation in the state. “Issues related to Odisha’s response to stop the spread of the virus, ramping up healthcare infrastructure to deal with the pandemic, ensuring adequate oxygen supply, the vaccination status and other such matters will be discussed in the meeting. Leaders from the opposition parties will also be given a chance to speak during the meeting,” Patro told media persons here on Friday. ....
