Niagara County allowing kids 12+ to receive Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine; several clinics scheduled

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Niagara County Department of Health says it will allow children ages 12 and up to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, and plans on holding several clinics to get kids vaccinated.
The county is administering vaccines at the following dates, times, and locations
1628 Quaker Road, Barker
374 Lake Street, Wilson
4061 Creek Road, Youngstown
2700 Transit Road, Newfane
1625 Lockport Street, Niagara Falls
âNow that federal and state officials have authorized the Pfizer vaccine for children as young as 12, it is important for parents and caregivers to take advantage of this expanded access to the free vaccine for their children before next school year,â stated Public Health Director Daniel J. BUFFALO, N.Y. According to New York State Health Department data, nearly 50% of all New Yorkers have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and local health departments have been shifting efforts as they try to get as many people as they can vaccinated.
Just a month ago, the Transit Drive-In, a Niagara County mass vaccination clinic, was vaccinating 3,000 to 4,000 people within a two day span but Public Health Director Dan Stapleton said those numbers have been dropping.
