The state government had just days ago, on April 21, once again revised its standard operating procedures (SOPs) to strictly contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, amid the alarming toll of the COVID-19 second wave. These orders include allowing only a maximum of 20 people during funerals and a cap of 25 guests at weddings. Before this, the authorities had already banned political meetings, rallies, morchas and protests for the time being, as these attract large gatherings.
