NAB grills top bureaucrat Nabeel Ahmad in assets case

LAHORE: Investigators of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday grilled Secretary, Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Department Punjab Barrister Nabeel Ahmad Awan in an investigation of assets beyond means against the top bureaucrat.
It has learnt that the NAB is conducting a forensic audit of assets of Nabeel Awan, including the audit of land registry which the accused claimed that it got from inheritance. Moreover, forensic audit of ink and font on original documents obtained by the NAB of properties of the bureaucrat in question is also underway.
The NAB has also sought record of assets of Nabeel Awan from different districts including Faisalabad. Previously, Nabeel had appeared before the NAB in a case related to Punjab Entertainment Company (PEC).
‘No junior officer to be appointed at higher post’

LAHORE: Culture of granting charge of higher post in Own Pay and Scale (OPS) to the junior officers/ doctors working in medical institutions and hospitals has ended.
Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department (SHC&MED) issued an order stating therein that giving charges of higher post in OPS without approval of the appointing authority shall be cancelled/withdrawn immediately. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, SHC&MED Secretary Barrister Nabeel Awan said that no medical institution/hospital shall in future appoint any officer/official at higher post in OPS without approval of competent authority. He warned that heads of the institutions will be held responsible if any order of charge of higher post to junior doctor was issued without proper approval.
