Mr. Volli Soer, aged 83 years, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on July 3, 2021.
Born in Petseri, Estonia on October 15, 1937, the family had to exit quickly because of the war and immigrated to Sweden in 1945 and later Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1949, all at the tender age of 12 with his parents, where his mother sadly passed away.
Later in 1953 he moved to Port Arthur with his father and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1958. He also obtained his Private Pilot Licence on September 15, 1959, one of his proudest moments.
In 1960 he married Frances (nee Ferguson) on September 9 and they had two daughters.
May 27, 2021 9:08 AM Henry Wojak, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 23, 2021 after a short battle with cancer.
He was born October 20, 1954 and raised in Montreal, Quebec.
He attended University of New Brunswick Forestry Engineering program and then accepted employment with Great Lakes Paper, woodlands division. Eventually he worked as a Paper Maker before retiring.
Henry enjoyed many hobbies, including city politics, especially Budget talks and gave numerous deputations at City Hall and TB Police Board. He always had an answer or thought on any given subject. He had an inquiring mind enjoying discussions and chatting with people. Nature, gardening, picking mushrooms, blueberries, fiddleheads were on the list of things to do. Also enjoyed swimming and had his turn at sport parachuting in his youth!
Donald Ramsay Andrews passed away peacefully in his 90th year on February 21, 2021 after a brief hospitalization. He was born in Fort William October 6, 1931 to Margaret and Geoffrey Andrews. He is survived by his wife Anne (Roseview Manor), his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Frank Carlisle, and his adored granddaughters Meghan Cote and her husband Tom, and Erin Carlisle all of Barrie, Ontario. He was predeceased by his son David in 1998.
He enjoyed growing up in Fort William, joined Army Cadets and learned how to ski at Mt. McKay. In November 1950 he started working as an engineer at the Great Lakes Paper Co. In 1953 he moved to the Provincial Paper Mill. On June 10, 1961 he married Anne MacIntosh in Toronto and they bought a home in Green Acres that he continued to live in until the end. Susan was born December 15, 1962 and David arrived February 6, 1966. In spite of David s many health issues, they provided a loving home for Susan and David with summers spent at camp a
