UW schools keep tuition frozen for one more year

View Comments The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents approved the system s annual budget Thursday, opting to keep tuition for in-state undergraduates frozen for another year, despite having the authority to raise it for the first time since 2013.  Overall, the average cost of attendance for UW undergraduate students will go up 1%, when accounting for increases in tuition and student fees. That increase translates to about $160 per student. The average cost of attendance at UW s branch campuses will increase 0.4%, or $18 per student. The regents passed the budget just hours after Gov. Tony Evers signed off on the state s next biennial budget, which provides UW schools with an additional $8.25 million in state taxpayer funding.
