Selfish behavior on Noonan Park rink
Thumbs Down: An Alexandria resident was disappointed in the behavior of a group of sixth grade hockey players at the rink at Noonan Park on Friday night, Dec. 18. He said the group, both boys and girls, were disrespectful, rude, swearing and trying to intimidate other skaters. He said they were shooting pucks at cars, the warming house and other skaters trying to use the rink. “Not a single parent in sight as apparently they were all dropped off to do whatever they wanted,” said the resident. “Other families and skaters would move to a separate area of the rink and this group of kids would follow and try to trip the young kids. They stole a puck from a group trying to shoot on a net in another area and wouldn’t return it. An elderly grandparent was trying to skate with her young grandkids and these kids were skating around them and trying to skate between the young ones, causing them to fall.” The reside

Every year since 1983, Janet Ellison has made a gingerbread house or themed cookie house for the holidays, and this year s theme honored Alomere Health.
“It’s been a fun tradition for her, and (she) gets help from her grandkids each year,” her daughter, Pam Ellison, said.
Janet’s grandchildren helped until they grew up and moved out. Her youngest grandchild is now 21.
A few of her previous cookie house creations have been inspired by local spectacles, such as Noonan’s Park, the Runestone Museum and now Alomere.
