Care home fulfils residents wishes with onsite pub

A SOUTHAMPTON care home has opened a new onsite pub for residents to enjoy as restrictions are eased. The Oak Lodge Bupa Care Home in Bitterne has now opened The Tipsy Squirrel Pub, fulfilling the request of residents to have a pub onsite. The name was chosen as a tribute to the many squirrels that take up residence in the trees of the homes grounds with the new facility utilising a previously rarely used area of the main seating lounge. The home had planned to kick-start the project last year, however, due to the pandemic, work was put on hold whilst the home waited for changes in Government guidance.

Caribbean weddings and events advocate releases new book via Zoom, February 23

A virtual book release will be held via Zoom on February 23, 2021, at 1:00 PM EST. The first-time author will engage in a live Q & A and will delve into many issues that are addressed in the book including the economic, social, legal and environmental impacts of COVID-19. The book was initially released on Amazon, January 17, 2021. During the first week, the book received the highest number of downloads of any Caribbean publication.
