A SOUTHAMPTON care home has opened a new onsite pub for residents to enjoy as restrictions are eased. The Oak Lodge Bupa Care Home in Bitterne has now opened The Tipsy Squirrel Pub, fulfilling the request of residents to have a pub onsite. The name was chosen as a tribute to the many squirrels that take up residence in the trees of the homes grounds with the new facility utilising a previously rarely used area of the main seating lounge. The home had planned to kick-start the project last year, however, due to the pandemic, work was put on hold whilst the home waited for changes in Government guidance.

President of the TTPS Social Welfare Association (TTPSSWA) acting Insp Gideon Dickson has described last month s car raffle as a success and was pleased with the turnout and participation of the public in the event.
The raffle which was held on April 10 at Xtra Plaza Chaguanas placed a Hyundai Ioniq car and other prizes up for grabs.

The island of Saint Lucia in the Caribbean is the only sovereign nation in the world to be named after a woman. Moving the needle forward and celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) is amplifying the “She is Saint Lucia” campaign with an inspiring video tribute in a continued effort to spotlight Saint Lucian women around the world. The campaign’s landing page stlucia.org/IWD showcases the women, in addition to dedicated social media posts on @TravelSaintLucia from March 1st – 8th, 2021.

BASSETERRE, St Kitts â Caribbean weddings and events planner, Natalie John, with more than 20 years of experience in the industry has released a new book; The Destination Wedding & Events Vendor Guide to COVID-19, that outlines safety protocols to address the risks associated with COVID-19.
A virtual book release will be held via Zoom on February 23, 2021, at 1:00 PM EST. The first-time author will engage in a live Q & A and will delve into many issues that are addressed in the book including the economic, social, legal and environmental impacts of COVID-19.
The book was initially released on Amazon, January 17, 2021. During the first week, the book received the highest number of downloads of any Caribbean publication.
