Efforts made to try and set up home in Sligo

There was a visit to Sligo in 1936 from a Senior Inspector in the Department of Local Government and Public Health (DLGPH) with the intention of looking at the possibility of setting up a mother and baby home in the county, the report of the Commission of Investigation into mother and baby homes, has found.
