Buying group reaches another membership milestone; surpasses two-year goal Posted March 04, 2021 | By Arabella Roden ⢠Editor Independent Jewellers Collective (IJC), which launched in early 2020, recently reached its two-year goal of 60 stores, following an influx of new memberships in the past two months. Josh Zarb, CEO IJC, said he was “extremely happy” with the progress the group had made in its first year. It s still early days, but we’re so thankful to all the retailers and suppliers who have partnered with us so far – this motivates us to work even harder for them Josh Zarb, Independent Jewellers Collective “To exceed our two-year target within eight months has been phenomenal; it’s quite exciting for the group. We got to 40 stores shortly after we launched and then reached our first-year target, which was 50 stores, before the end of the year, and it hasn’t slowed since,” he told ....

Sydney trade show gets huge boost; win-win for the jewellery industry Posted February 26, 2021 | By Arabella Roden ⢠Editor The International Jewellery & Watch Fair (IJWF), set to take place in Sydney in August, has been approved for the federal government’s Business Events Grants (BEG) program. The progam means jewellery and watch suppliers participating at the IJWF will qualify for grants to cover the costs of attending the event. This is fantastic news for the jewellery industry. It will help kick-start suppliers and retailers to get back to the vibrant and exciting industry that it is Gary Fitz-Roy, Expertise Events BEG was created by the federal government to support the events and exhibition industry, including the tourism sector, by funding Australian businesses to participate at pre-approved events – including trade shows, conferences, and conventions – from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021. ....
With a UK court ruling in favour of extradition of fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi, wanted in India on charges of fraud and money laundering in Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam case, Mumbai s Arthur Road jail has kept a special cell ready to lodge him, an official said on Friday. The jail official said that once Nirav Modi is brought to Mumbai, he will be kept in one of the three cells of barrack number 12, which is a high security barrack. Preparations for lodging Nirav Modi in the jail have been completed and the prison cell is ready for him, whenever he is extradited, he said. ....
