The architects of A9a believe that the exterior wall that restores the original sense of sandware is both a tribute to the classics and injects new vitality. The local coal ash is reprocessed to become embellishments, reshaping the form of contact with the world to gain the current sense of belonging to the site. The main steel structure truss of the building is mainly composed of 150 mm thick steel square columns, 125 mm thick diagonal braces and 200 mm 150 mm cross beams. 6 mm steel cables are connected through six anchor points and suspended under the gantry crane. One side of the main steel truss is overhanging for 1.5m to form a semi-outdoor corridor. In order to resist the transverse torque, the other side is connected by diagonal braces. In order to ensure lightness, the end is supported by 100 mm thick circular steel pipe. It directly exposes the main structure of the building and interprets the form aesthetics with its own structural language. ....

Yantian 19.5km Waterfront Boardwalk / eLandscript Studio

The Seafood Street Section of the Waterfront Boardwalk situates at one of the most prosperous commercial and retail areas in Yantian District. The promenade along Seafood Street was devastated during the hit of Typhoon Mangkhut. The design team treated the reconstruction project as an opportunity to reshape Yantian District. Seafood Street Section is a recreational promenade with a bicycle trail and walkway. Part of the wider section is sunken for a closer experience with the coast. The bottom part of the balustrade is made up of prefabricated concrete modules, while the top part comprises stainless steel and treated wood handrail. At the other side of the promenade, a retaining wall with prefabricated concrete modules echoes with the dynamic waterfront living.
