Mumbai Police have registered an FIR on charge of abetment to suicide in connection with the death of Lok Sabha member Mohan Delkar, a senior police official said on Wednesday.
Delkar (58), a seven-term MP from Dadra and Nagar Haveli Union Territory, was found dead in a hotel in Marine Drive area of south Mumbai on February 22. ....

The FIR was registered on Tuesday after Delkar s family members visited the Marine Drive police station and lodged a complaint. The police registered the case under the charge of abetment to suicide and provisions of the Atrocities Act. The police had recovered a 15-page suicide note from Delkar s hotel room which was written on his letter head, the official said, adding the note mentioned some names.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 9 (ANI): Maharashtra Home MinisterAnil Deshmukh on Tuesday said that the state government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the death of independent MP Mohan Delkar.
MP Mohan Delkar wrote the name of Administrator Praful Khoda Patel and held him responsible with many others in his suicide note. He committed suicide in Mumbai because if he would have committed suicide in Dadra and Nagar Haveli, he wouldn t get justice, Deshmukh said.
Today his family met us and told us that Maharashtra government must conduct fair probe, they should get security as they are fearing for our lives. We (state govt) have constituted an SIT in this case, the State s Home Minister added. ....
