By Mark Beauregard Read Article Rangeley’s Annual Town Meeting will be at the Rangeley Town Office on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. Voting by written ballot will take place between 8:00am and 8:00pm. A copy of the Annual Town report is currently available at the Town Office and should prove helpful for informed voting. This year’s Annual Town Report is dedicated to Alice (Quimby) Smith. Alice was in attendance at the May 17, 2021 Board of Selectmen’s meeting. A Selectmen signed copy of the 2020 Town Report was presented to her in addition to the sincere “Thank You’s” for her many years of dedicated civil service to the Town of Rangeley. ....

Explanations of the last three articles, all related to updates to the town’s Land Use Ordinance, took another 14 minutes, and chairs were stacked, loaded and gone in just 13 minutes more. No one opposed a single article in the streamlined warrant. And, in the wake of the governor’s recent announcement, not a single person wore a mask – although chairs were placed 6 feet apart inside the Fire Station and just outside its wide-open doors. ....
Letter: Hopkinton votes on fair redistricting Published: 4/29/2021 9:00:25 AM On May 1 the voters of Hopkinton will have the opportunity to join over 50 New Hampshire cities and towns by voting in favor of Article 11 on the Town Warrant, the N.H. Resolution for Fair Nonpartisan Redistricting. This article will ask the select board to inform the Redistricting Commission of the legislature that the Town of Hopkinton supports fair and open meetings and fair redistricting as the new maps are prepared for our congressional representatives, our executive council, our state senate and our state representatives after the 2020 Census. The maps should not be drawn for any political party or candidate. Fair maps will uphold the principle of one person, one vote. Vote yes on Article 11 so we can add our voices to those of voters across New Hampshire requesting that this process be conducted fairly and openly. ....
