ST. LOUIS St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones and St. Louis County Executive Sam Page are being accused of political overreach less than a day after a new mask mandate went into effect in St. Louis and St. Louis County.
Jones and Page, both Democrats, announced the mandate at a joint press conference Monday morning. The mandate requires people to wear masks in indoor public places and on public transportation. It includes everyone 5 and older, regardless if they are vaccinated. Wearing a mask outside is strongly encouraged, especially in group settings. ....

ST. LOUIS City officials have continued to lock horns over the federal pandemic relief funds. A bill to distribute the first round of funds stalled in a city board meeting last week.
Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed asked St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones asking her to allow his relief package to clear the current hurdle.
Board Bill 2 aims to spend the first $168 million in COVID-19 relief funds from the American Rescue Plan Act. It was held up in the Board of Estimate and Apportionment last week by Jones and Comptroller Darlene Green. ....

The latest project from Lamb Development Corp. will be a wedge-shaped condo replacing a popular auto repair shop.
Lamb was in the news recently when nine people, tenants of a property he owns at 1407-1409 Bloor St. W., were forced to leave their homes twice after carbon monoxide detectors were triggered.

City officials in St. Louis, Missouri, are moving forward with a plan to cut $4 million from the police budget and remove 98 vacant officer jobs.
The local Board of Estimate and Apportionment voted 2-1 in favor of the spending plan, which pledges to remove $4 million from the $171 million police budget and reallocate that money to social services, according to the
