Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today
Jun 9, 2021 | 5:37 AM
(Seguin) Get ready to hear the sweet sounds of jazz music in Downtown Seguin. On Sunday, June 13th, the Dirty River Jazz Band returns to Seguin to perform in Central Park at 7:00 p.m. as part of Seguin Main Street’s Central Park Summer Concert Series.
Originally from Seguin, the first band members met at Texas Lutheran University where they studied music. Their very first performance was, you guessed it, in the gazebo in Central Park! Since their beginning, they have gone on to perform all across the United States at swing dance events, weddings, corporate events and more!
The Trigg County Chamber of Commerce will host two ribbon-cutting events over the next several days.
Chamber Director Beth Sumner said the first event would be held Saturday morning at 8:00 at the Cadiz-Trigg County Farmer’s Market at 70 Main Street. Sumner added attendees and vendors are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines and use masks when social distancing is not possible.
The regular season of the Farmer’s Market runs Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to Noon through the end of October.
Sumner said the second ribbon cutting would be held Tuesday evening to mark the re-opening of the Cadiz River Walking Trail. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 at the trail located behind the Renaissance Stage.
