A Trigg County High School sophomore is one step closer to becoming an Eagle Scout after completing a service project in Cadiz.
Makoto Hiter and Boy Scout Troop 2057 took the time to clear the River Front Walking Trail behind the Renaissance Stage.
Hiter tells the News Edge planning the project and full implementation of the plan took about five months, with over 100 work hours put into clearing it.
The Trigg County Chamber of Commerce will host two ribbon-cutting events over the next several days.
Chamber Director Beth Sumner said the first event would be held Saturday morning at 8:00 at the Cadiz-Trigg County Farmer’s Market at 70 Main Street. Sumner added attendees and vendors are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines and use masks when social distancing is not possible.
The regular season of the Farmer’s Market runs Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to Noon through the end of October.
Sumner said the second ribbon cutting would be held Tuesday evening to mark the re-opening of the Cadiz River Walking Trail. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 at the trail located behind the Renaissance Stage.
