Governor Ivey announces local projects funded by Rebuild Alabama Act; Sylvania roadways to see resurfacing


Among the many recipients is the Town of Sylvania, which will see 1.3 miles of resurfacing.
The project will include Sixth Street SW for 1.3 miles from Burnt Church Road (County Road 102) to Blue Pond Boulevard West (County Road 27) and will total $245,665.
The funding is made available through the Annual Grant Program, a program created under the Rebuild Alabama Act. The Rebuild Alabama Act, overwhelmingly passed by the Legislature and signed by Governor Ivey in 2019, requires ALDOT to establish an annual program setting aside $10 million off the top of the state’s share of new gas tax revenue for local projects.
“More and more Alabamians are seeing road projects in their communities,” Governor Ivey said. “As we near the second anniversary of the passage of the Rebuild Alabama Act, we are showing the people of our state that we are true to our word, and money is being spent wisely. Sylvania City Council approves indoor shooting range permit
Midwest Shooting Center was granted approval to construct an indoor shooting range at the location of the former Andersons Market following a city council vote.

SYLVANIA, Ohio An Ohio-based company has been granted a special use permit by emergency order to build an indoor shooting range and gun shop at the former location of The Andersons Market in Sylvania. 
The permit was approved by Sylvania City Council with a vote of 6-1 on Jan. 4.
Midwest Shooting Center of Cridersville applied for a special use permit in 2020 to operate an indoor shooting range at the Harvest Place shopping plaza on West Sylvania Avenue. On Nov. 10, the 19-page permit application was reviewed during a meeting by the City of Sylvania Planning Commission.  ....
