CEDAR PARK, Texas - Residents in Cedar Park aren’t too thrilled about Austin’s list of potential designated camping zones for the homeless because two of the locations border Cedar Park neighborhoods.
One of the parks is the Lakeline Neighborhood Park. There’s a nice trail that’s back there with benches to sit on. I think it’s a low used park but because it’s right behind where I live we use it regularly, said a Cedar Park resident who didn’t wish to be identified. ....

Chief Michael Harmon will begin his new position on May 29 and says he is looking forward to his new role.
I would like to thank the City of Cedar Park for their confidence in my leadership throughout the past 15 months, and especially through the Chief s selection process. I also want to thank my officers, command staff, and civilian personnel for their support and encouragement over the past years, Harmon said. I plan to extend my focus on the critically important issues of diversity, inclusion, and equity that will strengthen our mission to serve the people who live, work, and play in Cedar Park. Experience: I served on the City s Planning and Zoning Commission for over 3 years prior to my service on the Council. I have served on multiple nonprofit boards including the Lake Travis Education Foundation and served as legal counsel to hundreds of cities and school districts throughout the state.
Why are you running for city council?
AC: I am running for re-election because there are several vitally important initiatives that are not completed yet. Specifically, (i) the comprehensive code update; (ii) capital improvement plans related to road infrastructure and our park network; and (iii) economic development. As a city we have made significant progress in all of these areas during my three years on council, and I am committed to seeing each through to completion in the next two years.
